The Wausau Early Birds Rotary Club started a program to provide fresh eggs to food pantries throughout Marathon County. Since inception, the program has provided dozens of eggs to area food pantries and has expanded to include fresh milk donations. Members contribute additional dues to cover the cost of this program to help our community.
In December 2015, the Marathon County Hunger Coalition reports the following donations to the program:
"I thought I would take a moment to let you know how the egg distribution program that your club is sponsoring. The pantries have been extremely grateful and appreciative and tell me the eggs have been very popular with their clients and don’t last long. In any event, the following is a summary since we began the program:
September 29th:
Wesley Pantry: 30 dozen
Covenant Community Pantry: 35 dozen
October 13th
Community Center of Hope: 30 dozen
First Presbyterian: 30 dozen
October 27th:
The Salvation Army: 60 dozen
November 10th:
The Neighbors Place: 65 dozen
The Neighbors Place: 36 ½ gallon milk
November 24th:

The Neighbors Place: 15 dozen
December 8th:

Again, since it has been some time since we last communicated to the group, I thought I would provide a summary report that you can pass on to the other members of the club if you desire. Thank you so much for your generosity. The clients of the various pantries have been and continue to be very thankful.
On behalf of the Marathon County Hunger Coalition, thank you for your continued support of our efforts to help those in need in the area.
